Stems:
Cultivated individuals often solitary, erect or twisted, slender, lignified, rough in texture, greyish white in colour, with numerous spirally arranged triangular remnant of petiole bases, resembling the scales of reptiles.

莖:
栽培時多單生，直立或扭曲，纖細，木質化，粗糙，灰白色，上面有許多的三角狀宿存葉柄基部，螺旋狀排列，像爬行動物的鱗片。

Leaf:

Pinnate, soft in texture. Pinnae linear, 25 to 50 on each side of rachis, with about 12 pairs of fish-bone-like spiny pinnae (acanthophylls) on the lower rachis.
