Stems:
Bark of trunk dark grey, longitudinally fissured into strips. Diameter at Breast Height (DBH) of main trunk to 3.5 m. Wood fragrant. Crown of young trees spire-shaped; crown of old trees broadly rounded. Branchlets often straight or slightly curved. Branchlets growing scalelike leaves nearly terete or 4-angled.

莖:
主幹樹皮深灰色、縱裂成條狀，胸徑可達3.5米。木材具香氣。幼樹樹冠尖塔形；老樹樹冠廣圓形。小枝常直或稍弧狀彎曲，著生鱗葉的小枝近圓柱形或近四棱形。

Needle-like and in a whorl of 3 when young, become scale-like when mature, opposite and densely arranged in cross-shaped.

Often dioecious. Male cones yellow, ellipsoid, small. Female cones subglobose, usually glaucous when young, dark brown when mature. With 1 to 4 seed(s).

孢子葉球:
多雌雄異株。雄球花黃色，橢圓體，細小。雌球花近球狀，初時常被白粉，成熟時暗褐色。含種子1至4顆。

Seeds:
Ovoid, slightly flattened, apex blunt, ridged, with few resin pits.

種子:
卵狀，稍壓扁，頂端鈍，具棱脊及少數樹脂孔。
