Stems:
Bark of trunk dark grey or dark brown, longitudinally and shallowly fissured. Young shoots rusty tomentose.

Leaf:

Bipinnatipartite. Leaf deeply divided into 7 to 15 pairs of primary lobes, which further pinnatipartite. Each lobe lanceolate in outline. Adaxially dark green, abaxially silvery-white sericeous, margin revolute.

二回羽狀深裂。第一回羽狀全裂成7至15對裂片，第二回在裂片的邊緣羽狀深裂，裂片輪廓披針形。葉面深綠色，葉底被銀白色絹毛，葉緣背卷。

Flower:

• Orange yellow and yellowish brown, the shape is distinct and funny. Tepals 4, fused into tube, upper portion ovoid, bend downward, bifid at anthesis. Stigma of style discoid. Flowers arranged on a same plane in the inflorescence, somewhat similar to a brush.

• 橙黃色至黃褐色，形態獨特有趣。花被4片合生成管狀，頂部卵球狀，向下彎曲，開花時2裂，雌蕊柱頭盤狀。花序上花朵均排在同一平面，有點像刷子。

Fruit:

• Follicles, ovoid-ellipsoid, slightly oblique. Dark brown when mature, splitting, with 1 to 2 seeds. Pericarp leathery. Persistent style curved.

果實:

• 蓇葖果，卵狀橢圓體，稍偏斜。成熟時暗褐色且開裂，具種子1至2枚。果皮革質，宿存花柱彎曲。
