Origin Name:

Taiwan, hence was given the name “Taiwan Acacia”. The species is also distributed in Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi and Yunnan Provinces. Countries of Southeast Asia like such as the Philippines, Indonesia and Fiji also has its distribution.

Leaf:

The green leaf-like organ we see actually is the modified stem called “phyllodes”. The phyllode itself is leathery in texture, with a straight shape or slightly curved as a falcate. The actual leaf was reduced into a tiny black spot which is difficult to see with the naked eye. The function of photosynthesis is instead performed by the phyllodes.

我們看到的綠色葉狀物乃為葉柄變態而成的葉狀柄，革質，直身或微彎，外形有如一把鐮刀。而真正的「葉」退化成葉狀柄頂端的一小黑點，肉眼近乎不可見，光合作用由葉狀柄進行。

• Golden yellow, head inflorescence globose, with slight fragrance. Looks like numerous tiny golden pompoms hanging on the branches when looking from a distance.
