Access Control Measures

1.

Access to University campus is subject to control measures. All persons entering campus are required to complete the daily health declaration form (linked to their student/staff cards, QR codes) or manually on the spot and undergo the body temperature check at the campus entrances.

2.

All students and staff will have to present their student/staff cards at the card readers or to the security staff for checking at campus entrances.

3.

Invited visitors attending meeting/activities/other functions can enter the campuses by scanning a QR code issued by the hosting departments/ offices at campus entrances. 

4.

Visitors without a QR code are required to be accompanied or picked up by staff or students in person.  Manual registration will be done at the campus entrances.

5.

All service providers/contractors of the University are required to scan a designated QR code or register manually at campus entrances.

Stepping up COVID-19 Control Measures for Health and Safety on Campus (effective from 10 January 2022)

The following groups of campus users must have been fully vaccinated 14 days prior or more; or possess a negative result for a COVID-19 test carried out by a Government recognised route for testing (Link) in the last 7 days.  Valid records must be uploaded to the University’s online health declaration system or produce to the security staff during the manual registration at the campus entrances.

All HKBU students and staff

All contractors whose place of work is within campus

3.

Holders of all library cards and all users of library facilities

4.

Holders of all sports cards and all users of sports facilities

5.

Invited visitors staying on campus for 4 hours or more on his/her day of visit

 

The following categories of campus users, who declare upon their entry to the campus that they are staying on campus for less than 4 hours on his/her day of visit, are only required to complete the daily health declaration form online or by using the hard copies available at campus entrances (as the case may be) before they enter the campus.

Parents and helpers of kindergarten (KG) school children holding the KG parent cards

Due to the volatile nature of the COVID-19 situation, the above measures will be updated when necessary.  Please follow the advice of the security staff at campus entrances.

No Smoking on Campus

According to the Smoking (Public Health) Ordinance (Cap. 371), no smoking is allowed on campus.
 

Animal on Campus

No pet/animal is allowed on campus except for teaching or research purposes. 

Guide dog/guide dog in training is welcome.

 

Guide dog

The University welcomes user with his/her licensed guide dog to access the campus.

Guide dog in training by staff or student

The University allows staff or student, as trainer, to bring his/her guide dog in training to the campus for socialisation training.

Consent from the University must be obtained and the guide dog in training should wear the identification jacket and/or harness.

The trainer should inform and obtain the understanding or consent, as appropriate, of respective stakeholders, such as the department/office, classmates, or event organisers, before taking the guide dog in training to any indoor spaces or activities.

Animal involved in teaching and learning activities/events on campus

For any on-campus activity or event organised by offices/departments that involves animal, the activity/event organiser should ensure that the animal does not create nuisance to other campus users. Please inform the Estates Office at 3411 5660 prior to the activity/event for necessary coordination.
