MERIT AWARD in Green Building Award 2025 (New Buildings Category: Completed Projects – Institutional) and FINAL GOLD in BEAM Plus Certification (New Buildings V1.2)

10 February 2026

The newly built Jockey Club Campus of Creativity (JC³) has recently garnered significant recognitions in green building design, receiving a Merit Award in the “New Buildings Category: Completed Projects – Institutional” at the Green Building Award (GBA) 2025 and achieving a Final Gold rating under BEAM Plus New Buildings V1.2 Certification. These accolades place JC³ among other exemplary sustainable developments in Hong Kong and underscore HKBU’s commitment to creating a low‑carbon, people‑centred campus.

GBA 2025, themed "Towards Carbon Neutrality • Excellence in Sustainable Built Environment" is held biennially and is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious honours in the building industry, recognising projects and organisations driving excellence in sustainable built environments.

JC³’s attainment of the Final Gold rating under BEAM Plus New Buildings V1.2 further affirms its role as a leader in sustainable building, meeting the standard of Hong Kong’s premier green building assessment scheme.

These recognitions highlight JC³’s contribution as a forward‑looking educational complex that seamlessly integrates learning, living and creative activities within a compact urban site, setting a benchmark for sustainable institutional buildings. The campus features a low-carbon building design with an innovative stepped building profile that maximises natural light and air circulation. Breezeways and a central courtyard ensure ample ventilation and help reduce energy use. Furthermore, the adoption of advanced energy‑efficient systems and smart controls contributes to reduction of operational carbon emissions.
