Exhibition and Conferences

The Estates Office oversees the use and allocation of eight University-wide exhibition and conference venues as located in Ho Sin Hang Campus, Shaw Campus, and Baptist University Road Campus.  The inclusion/addition of other venues shall be subject to management’s decision of the University.

Lam Woo International Conference Centre Lam Woo International Conference Centre

Location:
Level 1, The Wing Lung Bank Building for Business Studies (“WLB”)

Facilities:

  • Comprises two lecture theatres (WLB103 & 104), three meeting rooms (WLB105-107), one conference centre (WLB109) as well as a reception area (lobby and foyer) and an exhibition gallery
  • Designed for conference, ceremony and seminar
  • Provision of standard AV equipment in lecture theatres and meeting rooms
  • Offer a simultaneous interpretation system in Dr. Wu Yee Sun Lecture Theatre (WLB109)
  • Provision of spot lighting, exhibition display system and 2-D picture hanging system in the exhibition gallery
Dr. and Mrs. Sze Chi Ching Exhibition Gallery (Level 1) Dr. and Mrs. Sze Chi Ching Exhibition Gallery (Level 1)

Location:
Level 1, The Wing Lung Bank Building for Business Studies (“WLB”)

Facilities:

  • Provision of air conditioning, general and spot lighting for display purpose
  • Exhibition display system
  • 2-D picture hanging system
  • Level 1 interface area is shared with three lecture theatres at the Lam Woo International Conference Centre
  • Prior schedule coordination between the gallery and the three lecture theatres is necessary to ensure smooth running of events

Remark:
Since the Exhibition Gallery on Level 1 is situated at the interface area (lobby) shared with three other rooms (WLB103, WLB104 and WLB109) of the Lam Woo International Conference Centre, support or reception activities of conferences/events may be held at the exhibition area.  When the Exhibition Gallery is under reservation for a certain timeslot, the Estates Office shall indicate clearly that the interface area would be blocked from other conference/event users’ reservation

  • Comprises a multi-function room and three seminar rooms
  • Suitable for conferences, seminars, exhibitions, and other University functions and events
  • Entrance is linked to Renfrew Restaurant at David C. Lam Building
  • Provision of air conditioning, general lighting and standard AV equipment
  • Movable partitions are available to divide the multi-function room into two smaller rooms
  • Residual timeslots: after designated activities endorsed by the University management
Baptist University Road Campus

Yim Tsui Yuk Shan Plaza Yim Tsui Yuk Shan Plaza

  • Outdoor, covered area with benches and potted plants
  • Provision of general lighting
  • Natural lighting
  • Open for the enjoyment of staff and students during the campus opening hours
  • Can be used for University functions, events or exhibitions through advance reservation
  • Residual timeslots: after designated activities endorsed by the University management

G/F and 1/F, Lee Shau Kee Communication and Visual Arts Building

Facilities:

  • Purpose-built for exhibition events
  • Ceiling height: 6.15m (G/F), 8.6m (1/F)
  • Provision of air conditioning, general and display lighting system
  • 2-D picture hanging system
  • Wooden floor
  • Residual timeslots: after designated exhibition timeslots for teaching and learning activities endorsed by the University management
Sculpture Garden Sculpture Garden

Location:
G/F, Lee Shau Kee Communication and Visual Arts Building

Facilities:

  • Outdoor, enclosed area
  • Natural lighting
  • Trees and plants
  • Open to the public from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. according to the conditions of a government lease entered with the University
  • Can be used for various University functions and activities, and/or exhibition of outdoor art works as appropriate
  • Residual timeslots: after designated activities endorsed by the University management
Use and Reservation

While most of these eight venues are mainly used for either exhibition or conference purposes, some are of a multi-functional nature and could be used for other activities.

Call for Event Submissions

Advance reservation of venues for planned events is provided to user departments/offices.  Call for event submissions is made twice a year, in June for events scheduled for the second semester of the following academic year, and in December for those scheduled for the first semester of the following academic year.
